Our Story, Mission & Vision
The Gauteng Technical Manufacturing Initiative (GTMI) was established by the Gauteng Department of Economic Development (GDED). It is one of the Gauteng Provincial Government's flagship initiatives intended to create jobs in support of the Government's Industry Development strategies.
GTMI's focus is on technical manufacturing and engineering, including the tool, die, and mould making and precision machining sectors in Gauteng. It does boundary spanning activities required to align Industry and Province's actions to obtain maximum effect.
We serve as the critical link between government policy and industry implementation — ensuring both sectors work in harmony to build a stronger, more competitive manufacturing economy in Gauteng.
